I'm going on the World Race tomorrow!!

I'm fully funded; at launch; tested negative of covid; finished our last minutr training. Everything is ready to go. This is the moment I've been waiting for since March 2020 so many years ago.ย

Many people have told me how encouraged they are that I'm willing to give up my job and the comforts of the United States to go serve in Asia or Latin America. "It's amazing how much you're willing to sacrifice for God and for those people."

Truth be told I've felt the same way. Last January I dove into the World Race head first with an open heart. This time I'm dragging my feet and would honestly rather be home starting some long-term plan for my life. But God's laid the World Race on my heart so I guess I'm stuck here now. As much as I hate it I'll sacrifice the next seven months of my life for Him.

Cuz that's what God wants from us, right? Sacrificing all our wants and dreams to begrudgingly do His will?

Peter made that argument, after Christ told the rich man to sell all his possessions. "Look Master, we've left everything to follow you." As per the norm whenever Peter opened his mouth Jesus just rolled His eyes and told him he'd completely missed the point.

Obeying isn't a sacrifice, it's an investment. Jesus said, "No one has left his house or family or land for My sake and the gospel's sake who hasn't received a hundred times as much." Thank heavens He's not talking about material possessions, but rather something far greater and invaluable. Obedience to God and loving others provides relationship with the One who paid the price for your sins, the One who loves you and gives you peace and joy and love.

Full disclosure, there's a big chunk of me that would rather stay home. But by His grace I'm so excited to see how God capitalizes this investment. He's going to do some amazing things and it's an honor to be able to see it.

Thanks to all y'all who've prayed, donated, or otherwise supported me in going on the World Race a second time. God bless! See you in August.
